Coimbatore-Gujarat Expo Highlights Handloom Elegance and Wooden Treasures
Ramnagar, a neighborhood in Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu, has become a topic of interest. As reported by Local 18 Tamil Nadu, a vibrant fair called the Gujarat Mela is being held at Kamalam Duraisamy Hall, Coimbatore. Visitors can explore and buy wooden crafts and garments at this event.
The clothing collection includes a variety of sarees for women, such as handwoven bamboo fiber sarees, banana fiber sarees, and Gujarati cotton sarees. Additionally, the fair features a diverse selection of menswear, including men’s shirts, Meerut kurtas, khachrach cholis, kids' khachrach cholis, and shirts and pants for children. Wooden household products are also a highlight, with prices starting at just Rs 20.
Mariyappan, a vendor participating in the fair, shared insights about the event. He mentioned that the Gujarat Mela will continue until December 8 and that he has brought a curated selection of popular items from 18 states to showcase. Mariyappan emphasized that the fair offers an extensive range of products suitable for families, encouraging visitors to explore and purchase items that appeal to their children and other family members.
The offerings include wooden products from Uttar Pradesh, acupuncture tools, Channapatna toys, and kurtas. Shoppers can also find bed sheets, stylish tops, handloom sarees, and more. The wooden items on display range from small utensils like spoons to larger pieces. Women’s tops are priced starting at Rs 250, while bed sheets are available for Rs 250 to Rs 1400, with larger sizes also in stock. Handloom tops are priced at Rs 650 and up, while sarees range from Rs 320 to Rs 6000.
